William Laparra (1873-1920) is an artist from Bordeaux, who will have Bouguereau, Tony Robert-Fleury and Jules Lefèvre as masters.
Distinguished from the Prix de Rome in 1895, he traveled to Italy, then to Spain.
Our landscape, mistakenly located as Bologna by a label on the reverse, shows the Tuscan town of San Gimignano and its characteristic towers.
