A spring guard then deploys to protect the hand. The blade is engraved and marked Tolèdo, it is also marked with the famous arms manufacture of Saint Etienne with the inscription in relief "Manufacture française d'armes et cycles de Saint Etienne". The arms factory of Saint Etienne was created in 1764 and was very successful in the second half of the nineteenth century, it was at this time that our sword cane was manufactured.
