"Delure, Sundial, Compass, Brass, XVIIIth"
Travel sundial with brass compass engraved by the King's engineer, Jean-Baptiste Delure. Octagonal table engraved with three time scales. Folding Gnomon with bird-shaped compass. Back with city latitudes. It is signed Delure in Paris. Jean-Baptiste Delure was active from 1695 until his death in 1736. Around 1710 - 1720. Condition, good, the fleur-de-lys of the compass was scratched during the Revolution.
