Object description :

"Sea Coconut"
Coconut. Coco de mer. Otherwise known as "Coco-fesse" or more seriously Lodoicea maldivica, a less familiar and more scientific name which nevertheless seems to be erroneous, since this seed is not native to the Maldives, but from another archipelago equally attractive from the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean. The name given by French sailors in the 18th century therefore has the merit of perfectly describing this object modeled by mother nature in one place on the globe, the Island of Praslin in the Seychelles. The largest seed in the world grows on a sea coconut palm.
