" Clock Era Empire "athéna" Signed "caillouet" 1810"
Very rare mythological clock of the Empire period signed on the dial "Caillouet watchmaker in Paris". watchmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French watchmakers at the date of 1810. Sculpture (Height: 37 cm) finely chiselled patinated bronze of the goddess Athena. sitting posture and profile. equipped with a helmet adorned with a sphinx and ram's head. mask of Medusa and her hair snakes chiseled on the chest.

Represented with its mercury-gilt bronze attributes is its spear and shield, where the white enamel dial and its finely worked hands are inscribed.

Large mahogany veneer base covered with a beautiful varnish to the buffer providing contrast, shine and protection.

Original mechanism without modification, suspension with silk thread, no ringing system.

Clock of excellent manufacture, Perfect authenticity as well as a remarkable state of conservation.
