"Jules Sarlandie (1874-1936) Superb Art Nouveau Decor Box, Limoges Enamel, Fauré, Marty .."rare and superb enamel box and brass mount by Jules Sarlandie around 1915/1920, signed J. Sarlandie Limoges. It indeed has a magnificent Art Nouveau floral decoration on the cover, made of polychrome enamels on an intense night blue background, the body of the box being entirely covered with night blue enamel with green refflets. Boxes are rather rare in the production of Jules Sarlandie. Jules Sarlandie is one of the largest Limousin enamellers of the early 20th century, he was part of the revival of Limousin enamelling, with Paul Bonnonn and Alexandre Marty. He was one of Camille Fauré's competitors. In addition, Jules Sarlandie had the very very good idea of calling on great decorators with whom he would partner to create real masterpieces during the Art Deco period; these artists were rené Crevel, gaude-rosa, beaumont ..... He is today one of the biggest enamellers in Limousin and his pieces have become very sought after. This box or candy box measures 7.5cm in diameter and 4cm in height; the cover is in good condition, the body has some gaps on the lower part, but nothing serious that does not harm the object; moreover it can be restored if desired. guaranteed authentic and vintage.
