"Emblazoned Earthenware Plate From Moustiers XVIII Th (1734)"
Earthenware plate with round edge decorated in blue shades.
On the wing, adjoining coats of arms and in the center the order of the Holy Spirit, crowned with a ducal crown. They are surrounded by an embroidery motif around the edge of the wing. --At the arms of Louis-François-Armand de Vignerot du Plessis, Duke of Fronsac, Duke of Richelieu, Prince of Mortagne, Marquis of Pont-Courlay, Count of Cosnac, Baron de Barbezieux, Baron de Cozes and Baron de Saujon, Marshal and peer of France born in Paris on March 13, 1696, died in this same city on August 8, 1788. He was the little nephew of Cardinal Richelieu, the godchild of Louis XIV and the Duchess of Burgundy Marie Adélaîde de Savoie .
He married in second marriage to Elisabet-Sophie de Lorraine (1710-1740). --In the arms of the Dukes of Lorraine, Elisabeth-Sophie de Lorraine, second daughter of Joseph de Lorraine and Marie Louise Jeannin de Castille, titled Mademoiselle de Guise before her marriage, younger branch of the house of Lorraine.
This plate with their arms corresponds to their marriage which took place on April 7, 1734.
