"Louis XVI Clock "This subject is inspired by the clock of the bronze artist Vion, from which later the variations of representation and theme were born. Here too we find on one side a young Cupid offering a dove, as a symbol and pledge of love, to the female figure which is placed on the other side of the clock.
Case: marble base with a central bas-relief of the festive putti. The biscouitte case, perfectly worked like a rock, holds the clock movement inside. On the sides the are the gilded and chiseled bronze figures of the young Cupid and the female.
Movement: French with anchor escapement, silk suspension, striking hour and half-hour strike via counter-wheel.
