Important Baroque Decoration In Golden Wood From The 18th Century flag

Object description :

"Important Baroque Decoration In Golden Wood From The 18th Century"
Important decoration strongly molded in gilded wood and in wood painted like faux red marble. it is a large carved and openwork wooden element that can be mounted above the door, as a decorative element for a headboard, as a decorative complement in moldings etc ...
but it separates into two almost identical pieces forming pendant and being able to be placed opposite and in different positions for example around a door, a pier, a window etc ...
the original gilding is in excellent condition with gold leaf apart from a few small gaps and the red faux marble is of a beautiful intense color and contrasts well with the gold of the molding. these elements are carved and openwork in high relief of shells, acanthus leaves and leaf foliage.
they date from the middle of the 18th century and are by their decoration and their presence completely in the spirit of the baroque and of a certain taste for the rococo.
a very nice decoration.
