"18th Century, Venetian Lacquered And Giltwood Bench"
Elegant and rare finely carved, lacquered and gilt wood bench
Venice (Italy) early 18th century

This elegant and rare bench was created in Venice (Italy) in the first half of the 18th century, between the Louis XIV and Louis XV taste. The structure is made of finely carved wood, that is lacquered in light blue-green and golden. The four carved legs, with phytomorphic decorations in the joints, are connected by a cross-section with moving and arched lines at the centre of which is carved an element with leafy ornament. The seat, shaped and following the line of the move legs, is padded with green fabric.
This bench, graceful in its proportions and particularly decorative, is suitable to be placed in multiple places of your house. It can be displayed in a study or in the living room, or used in the hall or bedroom, and even in the bathroom. Thanks to its luminous lining, the lively colour of the lacquer and the preciousness conferred by the gold, it can be combined with antique and modern furnishings.
