""the Divine Spark" By Émile- Louis Picault"
Emile Louis Picault was born in 1833, died in 1915, history sculptor, Mythological compositions, medalist, symbolist. He regularly appeared at the Paris salon between 1863 and 1909. "The divine spark", an emblematic subject in the sculptor's career, is a magnificent representation of femininity, associated with the power represented by the eagle with outstretched wings. Important detail, this 93 cm high test, has the full stilet in the palm of the right hand, an accessory often missing or broken. The nuanced patina is original and the sculpture has a base in molded Royal red marble.
