Object description :

"Marquise Ring, Vermeil And Garnets, XIXth Century."
This marquise is richly set with a paving of thirty-eight round faceted cut garnets organized in two rows surrounding in the center two pear-shaped stones also cut in facets. Garnet has the reputation of bringing vitality and energy to the one who wears it, it is a protective stone which is symbol of truth, commitment and loyalty, it encourages to move forward, to fight against adversity and it brings prosperity. The intensity of the red of the garnets offers a very nice contrast to the yellow of the vermeil. From the 1870s to 1880s this ring has the charm of old jewelry, offered as a token of love. Finger size 56, kitten length 2.5 cm, width 1.5 cm.
