"Jar In Glazed Earthenware Saintonge Period End XVIth"
Superb and large jar in glazed terracotta from the late XVIth century, work by Saintonge. This large terracotta jar is covered on its whole with an olive green glaze. On the edges of the summit there are 3 gadrooned handles for transport and maintenance as well as a pouring spout. The filler neck at the top is wide and tightened in the center. Strilles decorate the base of this object while the upper part is embellished with patterns in gadroons. Rare object in this size and in this state of conservation. Wear of the glaze and some accidents due to the spout.
