State arms of Napoleon 1st, the "statutory" arms have no branches of oak, laurel or ribbons in the lower part. Characteristics that are abundantly found during the coronation and the marriage with Marie-Louise on coaches, monuments etc ... A number of carpets, draperies, doors were woven by imperial manufacturers (Gobelins, Savonnerie ...) decorate public places and palaces during the coronation of Napoleon and his marriage to Marie-Louise. They were made from models painted or drawn by the painters of the tapestry factories, and from paintings by Masters. This oil on canvas was probably painted on the occasion of the coronation or the marriage of Napoleon 1st and Marie-Louise, as a model.
