Object description :

"Lever Corkscrew - Magic Lever Cork Drawer"
Lever corkscrew.
This English corkscrew of American origin in stamped sheet metal comes from the patent of RG Smythe filed in 1935.
It makes one think irresistibly of an owl, hence its nickname of Hootch owl.
Its square section rod is pierced with holes to serve as a rack for the two side levers.
The so-called fast wick, usually mounted on counter corkscrews was patented by JL Clark in 1864.
