"Young Woman With Rabbits, Original Terracotta Group By Jean Magrou (1869-1945)"
Besides his official work for public or royal commissions - like effigies of the Orleans in the Royal Chapel of Dreux, or that of the Emperor of Brazil in Petropolis Jean Magrou is known for small entertaining bronzes and terracotta sculptures, often mixing animal subjects and young women. Our group, placed on a beautiful marble base and gilt bronze, perfectly illustrates this part of his work, still in the spirit of the Belle Epoque.
Some fingers of the young woman are missing. Restorations to the ears of rabbits.
