"Nuremberg Iron Box, Painted Outside, Early XVIIth Century"
Wrought iron box painted from the outside. Small container for documents and precious goods (coins and jewelry). A fine example of the Nuremberg blacksmiths of the 16th / 17th centuries; exported all over the world. Lock mechanism hidden behind a steel plate, perforated and engraved with mascarons and chimeras heads. 7 bolt closure, with its original key. Good original condition.
