Maud GERARD (Sydenham- England 22/01/1915 –Brussels 02/04/2013)
Belgian painter studied at the Henriette BOSCHÉ workshop in 1931. Entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1931. Studied painting with ANTO Card from 1935 to 1937. Obtaining a scholarship to study painting in Paris from 1936-1937. Winner of the annual Painting competition of the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1937. Studied with Isidore OPSOMER at the Painting Institute of Antwerp. She was "Prix de Rome" in 1941 and stayed at the Villa Medici. Exhibition at the Galerie de la Licorne in Brussels in 1942. Personal exhibition at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels in 1948. Exhibition at the Galerie Breughel in Brussels in 1952 and 1955. Has made numerous trips to Europe, Africa, New York, Washington and South America. In 2015,
Maud Gérard entered the Museum of Modern Art in Paris with a monumental work, entitled "Eve".
