Six Lyonnaise Chairs Louis XV Period In Walnut

Series of Six Lyonnaise chairs, Louis XV period, in solid carved walnut. The high molded back with sinuous curves ends at the top with a rich sculpture decorated with flowers. The curved seat rests on four crosspieces with rich and plump moldings adorned on the front by a belt very nicely carved with flowers and leaves. The curved base ends with large acanthus leaves on all four feet, surmounted by connections simulating leaves falling in reserves. This regional work, probably Lyonnais, remains very successful and demonstrates a high quality of execution attributed to the excellent carpenters in seats in the Rhône valley. Excellent general state of conservation. No restoration. Superb patina. Old straps from the 18th century, certainly original. Partially worn and worn fabrics. Assemblies to be revised.
