"Landscape From Jules Claverie 19th"
Painting representing a landscape in Provence signed Jules Claverie. Student of Dominique Antoine Magaudil exhibited at the Salon from 1897 to 1931. He obtained several awards including a gold medal in 1923 for An old manor house on the Etangethameau in Provence. he participated in numerous regional exhibitions and became a professor at the School of Fine Arts in Marseille. He died in Marseille in 1932. He was buried in the Saint-Pierre cemetery; his tomb is decorated with a sculpture by Louis Botinelly representing a young woman lying down holding in her right hand a painter's palette and in her left hand a branch of laurel; the bust of the deceased is placed on a pedestal.
