Neapolitan decor typical of this period, inspired by the painter Charles François Grenier de Lacroix, known as Charles François Lacroix of Marseille, born around 1700 in Marseille, died in 1779 in Berlin. Lacroix de Marseille is a painter of landscapes and seascapes in the style of Claude Joseph Vernet. He stayed in Rome in 1754, and from 1776 he exhibited with great success and spent a good part of his life between Italy and Provence. Our screen signed J.de Greling, is known to have painted landscapes or birds mounted on a screen.
