"Brass And Wrought Iron Basin. Meuse Valley. 16th Early 17th Century."
The forged tank, not taken up in the lathe, with apparent hammering, is riveted on a wrought iron circle secured to the dito handle. The latter is adorned with two large molded brass rings and ends with a cage (photo n ° 4) with three twisted branches. The largely overflowing cover is pushed back and engraved with trilobed gadroons alternating with twigs. All surrounded by a serpentine frieze. Origin: MEUSE valley. Diameter: 33 cm. Total length: 119 cm. Period XVIth beginning XVIIth century. Very good condition. Old small restorations in the tank (photo n ° 3).
