Object description :

Real human skeleton presented by Etablissements Auzoux. It is suspended from the gallows thanks to a height-adjustable butterfly ring, fixed in the center of the skull. The cast iron stem, consists of a bifid foot, a main rod and a secondary telescopic forged rod ending in a hook. Its height is adjustable thanks to a wing nut. This remarkable educational set was carefully produced by the Etablissements Auzoux-Paris 9 rue de l'Ecole de Médecine, as evidenced by the signature on the foot: Auzoux-Paris. Period 1880/1900. Rare in this state and especially with this signature. NB: The Etablissements Auzoux were founded by Doctor Louis Thomas Jérôme Auzoux born April 7, 1797 in Saint Aubin d'Escoville (Eure) and died March 6, 1880 in Paris. Internationally known as the creator of many anatomical models used in the teaching of human and veterinary medicine. Skeleton height 1.65 m, stem 1.90 m
