"Pique Or Cotillon Skirt In Indian Broken Stick - Provence Circa 1860"
Circa 1860 Provence France Spectacular Provencal pique skirt or Cotillon in Indian with broken stick patterns dating from the Second French Empire. Diamond quilting commonly called ravioli and sixteen beads at the bottom giving all the volume to the skirt. Indian with wide stripes white background and yellow background from Gaude with tight sowing of patterns said in bees, solid green, pink, red and black. This type of skirt is generally attributed to the Avignon region or to the Comtat Venaissin. Braid of cleanliness at the bottom of the skirt in yellow twill wool. Lining in chamois and white mottled printed cotton. Waist montage with fine barrel pleats maintained by a braid of yellow silk fluff which seems to be original from the same period. Tightening of the skirt in front and under the apron. No defect to note apart from some very slight discoloration of the lining. The Indian has kept its new look of the time. Excellent condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: Height 90 cm Height 76 cm Circumference of the skirt 303 cm More info: https: //villa-rosemaine.com/bourse/pieces/jupe-piqu % C3 % A9e-ou-cotillon-en-Indien -b C3% % A2ton-broken-provence-circa-1860
