Circa 1860 France Eloquente Pair of complete 17th century wool damask curtains from the Second French Empire. Weaving with wool and silk twill background in Fuschia, brown and aubergine camaieu. Astonishing decor with plant medallions inspired by the 17th century, representing large bouquets with stylized acanthus leaves and fleur-de-lys. Classic scheduling in ironwork cartridges influenced by the revival taste of Viollet-le-Duc, in vogue under the Second Empire. Very beautiful matching trimmings sewn on three sides and brown cotton chintz lining. Clean, no holes or dirt. Excellent condition of color and conservation.
