Second son of the famous painter Ambrosius Bosschaert, he was directly influenced by his family circle, in particular his uncle Balthazar Van der AST Johannes Bosschaert specializes in floral compositions, favoring horizontal formats, still lifes mainly presented in baskets on entablatures.
