"Secretary In Cabinet, Varnished Martin Aux Singes Musiciens."
From the Napoleon III period, this piece of furniture, also called lady's secretary, is decorated on the flap with a very rare Vernis Martin decor representing an orchestra of monkeys. Delicate marquetry of small daisies in diamonds. Garnish with golden bronzes. Secret drawer in the upper belt, under the marble. Opening activated by a mechanism inside the secretary, in speckled maple and rosewood. Original Bordeaux-dark plum leather in good condition. Veined red marble top.
