"Louis XVI Barometer."
18th century barometer, Louis XVI in gilded wood. The pediment represents an eagle, two cornucopias with fruit, a laurel wreath and trimmings represented by a drape and two pompoms. The frame is oval framed by sheaves of laurel. The dial is made of wood covered with Meudon white where is written in ink: thermometer according to Réaumur (broken), above the unfortunately deleted inscriptions, in the rectangle of temperature records minus 11 degrees in 1740, minus 15 degrees in 1709 , 31 degrees in 1753 in Paris.
