Minton is an old British factory founded in 1793, independent until 1968 and whose brand disappeared in 2005. Under the Victorian era, Mintons Ltd provided numerous institutions to the 'international.
A first company was founded in 1793 by Thomas MINTON (1765–1836), quickly using the technique of decoration by transfer, a method close to the principle of the decal and passing through engraving.
The first prestigious pieces produced by MINTON in the 1820s were in the Regency style; there are tea or coffee sets, bowls, salad bowls, and sophisticated trompe l'oeil dishes.
In 1845, the company became Minton, Hollins & Company and developed the production of decorative wall and floor elements, supplying religious buildings, public buildings, large hotels, private houses.
The firm participated in the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London.
