Vasily Yakovlevich Grachev (1831-1905) was a Russian sculptor, from St. Petersburg. The artist was the main competitor to the sculptor Eugène Lanceray (1848-1886). Grachev stopped modelling after E. Lanceray's death in 1886.Both of them together made a realy great input to the Russian sculptural art by competing and inspiring each other during the period of 1873-1886.
Grachev used to cast his works at Woerffel foundry in St. Petersburg.
