Black glazed earthenware vase created by Suzanne Ramié for Madoura.Signed under the vase: Madoura, plein feu. France, Vallauris, circa 1950. Good condition. Suzanne Ramié stopped producing this model when Picasso asked him if he could use this form for his creations. Suzanne Ramié (1907-1974) created the Madoura workshop in Vallauris in 1938. In the 1950s, the production of the workshop obtained, a great notoriety which became even more important when in 1948, she combined her experience as a ceramist with Picasso creations.
