The harvest of the manna, oil on wooden panel, dimensions 80 cm x 58 cm, with the frame 98 cm x 76 cm, attributed to the Master of the Prodigal Son, Flanders around 1540. The Master of the Prodigal Son is a Flemish mannerist painter, active in Antwerp between 1530 and 1560. It owes its name proposed by Georges Hulin in 1909 to a painting representing the Prodigal Son among the courtesans and kept at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. He is a very personal artist with a very recognizable style. The manna is the providential food fallen from the sky, because distributed by God to feed the Hebrews during their long crossing of the desert.
