Object description :

"Chateau Dauzac Viebrock Count Of Lynch Rare Red-hot Branding Iron To Mark The Wine Barrels, Circa 1841"
RARE IRON or SEAL to MARK the WINE BARRIERS of the XIXth CENTURY
ISSUED from the CASTLE of a GREAT WINE OF APPELLATION MARGAUX
** CHÂTEAU DAUZAC **
It is engraved as follows: GRAND VIN - CHATEAU DAUZAC - VIEBROOCK - CTE LYNCH - LABARDE MEDOC
(Regarding the inscriptions it carries and the history of the castle, this iron was certainly made around 1841).
He is at ARMOIRIES COUNTY LYNCH (The Earl of Lynch, Mayor of Bordeaux under the Restoration).
Total height: 54cm / Height and width of the stamp: 18,5X16,5cm Weight: 4,940g
I inserted among the photos pages of an old work presenting the wines of Bordeaux which devotes one or two pages to the history of this castle and that brings light on the markings of this barrel seal.
With look to the last photo you will be able to read a part of text of the book devoted to this castle.
