Pair of gouache (wallpaper projects). Stamp on each one. (Mermaid to the pallet).
Address of the painter in New York on the back of the cardboard.
The first gouache is titled "Sunday garden", the second "Flames".
Jean Van Noten (1903 - 1982).
Belgian figurative and allegorical painter. He was a draftsman of tapestry cartoons, stained glass windows and postage stamps. Student at the Academies of Brussels. His teachers were Victor Horta, Jean Delville, Constant Montald, Emile Fabry. From 1934 until 1961, he was artistic advisor to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, exhibition and fairs department. He worked in the Belgian Congo and has been to the United States many times in the course of his professional activity.
