"Great Copper Coquemar. Height: 40 Cm. Eighteenth Century"
The shoulder-shaped body, forged and assembled by brass serrated soldering, stands on 3 sturdy wrought-iron feet with a triangular platinum riveted. Short beak taken mass, strengthened as well as the neck by a rolled edge. Anse in fixed flat console, copper. Dangling wrought iron handle, on hook ears. Kepi shaped lid with cap and pouch shell. Since the Middle Ages, the coquemar declined in various capacities, served as hot water reserve. Ancestor of the kettle (this term does not appear until 1740), he enthroned in the fireplace, placed on a bed of embers, or hung on the rack. Origin: Rhône Valley. Height at the lid: 40 cm.
