"Cevennes Landscape"Landscape of the Cevennes, where an infinity of different greens mingle, creating an impression of vegetal abundance. It is a work of Edouard Antoine Marsal who had a passion for the landscapes of the Cévennes mountains. Born July 4, 1845 in Montpellier, where he died in 1929, Marsal had been the pupil of the great Alexandre Cabanel at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He exhibited regularly at the Salon from 1868 to 1888. There are eight of his works in the collections of the Fabre Museum in Montpellier, where he also decorated many churches. Sign.
