"Lambrequin In Canvas Of Orange Manufacture Wetter (?) - Eighteenth Century"
Circa 1760/1780 France Rare lambrequin in canvas printed on the copper plate most probably from the Manufacture Wetter in Orange and dating from the second half of the 18th century.Toile to be compared to a similar model with Wetter's piece director deposited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.Cotton cotton field full of pink buds and roses blooming lattice spiny stems and ribbed leaves. Lining cotton canvas and cream chintz. Second Empire trimmings. A similar room is owned by the Orange Museum. Good color condition but black etch has partially eaten leaves. The canvas is fortunately maintained by its thick lining. Good general structural condition Dimensions: 225 cm long x 99 cm high to the widest, 39 cm to the narrowest.
