William Baptist Baird and an American painter born in 1847 and died in 1917. He came to Paris to perfect his training. In 1872 he exhibited at the official salon; he was still there in 1899. He worked in France, Paris and the forest of Fontainebleau, Switzerland. In addition to some landscapes of Paris, Barbizon, Brittany and Lake Geneva, he painted mainly cattle in the meadows and, essentially, farm and farmyard subjects, chickens, chicks, rabbits.
