"Lying Bull"
This lying bull, made of gray terracotta under engobe, and which retains traces of natural pigments, exactly dates from the time of the Tang, exactly from the beginning of the period which extends from 618 to 907 of our era. We will be sensitive to the accuracy of the model that perfectly renders the details of the musculature of the bovid, while preserving the natural position of the animal that raises the head, as to inquire of a noise perceived in the distance. Taken on the spot, and modeled in a pigeon of earth, which is a technique more complex than that of the simple molding, and which was the appanage of the best among the choroplasts which worked to produce the mingqi.
