Chinese Fan, Canton For Export, 19th Century

Chinese Fan. Hand painted leaf. There are thirty characters on each side on terraces and in gardens. The heads of the sixty characters are ivory carved and glued on the leaf, the clothes of these same characters are silk also stuck on the leaf. Lacquered bamboo stiks. It measures approximately 11,02" long closed and 20,47" in open diameter. Usages of uses visible on the photos. China, Canton, for export to Europe, circa 1880.
