Although he was not known as a master, Paul Martin specialized in neo-Gothic subjects, with church interiors (especially Marseille and Provence), castle ruins or medieval scenes, stylistically close to each other. an artist like Charles-Caius Renoux. He exhibited, at the Royal Museum of Marseille in 1827, the interior of a village church in Champagne, according to nature. This artist also painted the interior of the church of Poissy. These two paintings were acquired by the Duchess of Angoulême. Reynolds has engraved one of his paintings, representing two characters of the century of Louis XIII, walking on a terrace. Paul Martin also exhibited in Paris in 1839: a scene from the Woodstock novel; Street and steeple of Accoules; Interior, Middle Ages scene, watercolor; the Wedding of IlalbertGlendineng, watercolor.- In 1813, View of the church St-Victorà Marseille; Smugglers in the ruins of a monastery (Bastan, Hautes-Pyrénées). - In 1848, View of the Hotel-de-Ville and the port of Marseille; Interior of a guard-house, in the fifteenth century, a young recruit deceived by soldiers in the game, Still life.-In 1850, a merchant of fruits and flowers at Marseilles, who settled for a time at Saint-Germain. -en-Laye (views of local sites, the Seine Valley, and even the Normandy coast), then in the south-west to Auch, with several participations in the Toulouse show, especially in 1861 with 6 works on display .
