Pastel of Pierre Chapuis, representing a landscape around Saint-Leu, signed, dated "July 8, 1915" and located "St Leu" below and left. Pierre Chapuis participated in major Parisian exhibitions, including that of the National Society of Fine Arts since 1906, the Salon d'Automne in 1907 and the Salon des Independants until his death. Famous, at the time, for his theater decorations, he is better known, later, for the subtlety of his watercolor landscapes of Trouville, Deauville.
