This pair of carpets is in very good condition and clean and it is actually rare to find a pair of the early twentieth century 1900 - 1920 in such good condition.
The carpet Saruk, also known as Hamadan, the Ecbatana of Antiquity, is the product of some villages and European buying houses have offices there. Many of these rugs are nicknamed hamadan by traders, especially the rugs of passage many of which are made in this region. Sometimes these carpets have distinct identities and this type is the Sarough, tied in the small town of that name but marketed in Hamadan.
