Object description :

"Portrait Of Woman - Attributed To Louis-michel Van Loo"
Around 1740 This portrait of a woman, whose slender and graceful face is represented, is formerly named as that of the Countess of Provence, Marie-Joséphine de Savoie. This attribution is only very risky with regard to the dates ... We could see here much more logically, one of the girls of Louis XV, in simple outfit of interior and some flowers in the hair, as we can see in the portraits of van Loo or Nattier. The quality of this portrait, very bright is easily identified by the details of the eyes or the nose, where a few touches in glaze can accentuate the softness. Canvas enlarged at the bottom, in an imposing frame. Parisian private collection. 47 x 32 cm without frame
