"Napoleon III Ornament, Silver And Micro-marquetry."
This exceptional set consists of a brooch, a pendant and a bracelet. They are composed of medallions, in micro-marquetry of precious wood, mounted in solid silver. It seems that it is a work originating from La Flèche in Sarthe (Their origin was given to us by the salesman who claimed that it was manufactured by a man named Cornavin in La Flèche). Of an extraordinary fineness of execution these jewels realized with wood of colors are the witnesses of the very great virtuosity which were capable of the craftsmen of the time and more particularly the author of these jewels, we do not remember not having seen equivalent work. These objects are unique and made for a specific person whose initials SM appear on a medallion in the center of the bracelet. The pendant is equipped with a pin to be worn as a pin and the pin of the pin had to be changed because it is made of steel. Napoleon III period, silver and precious wood.
