Object description :

"Shishi Or Japanese Lion Water Dropper, Suiteki, Edo Period"
Old Japanese water dropper, suiteki, in the form of a shi shi. A water dropper is a small container that was used to hold water which was added a drop at a time to an inkstone when grinding an ink stick. Today we enjoy and collect them as works of art rather than using them.
In worn condition, our little lion is very fine.
