Object description :

"Large Mahogany Navy Spotting Scope, Circa 1750"
Interesting model of a marine telescope measuring one meter in length (exactly 96 cm) with a single print. We can date it from the middle of the 18th century. The spotting scope is not signed and is not achromatic. The octagonal mahogany tube measures 6 to 5 cm in diameter. The inner eyepiece tube, consisting of 3 lenses, is made of brass. The lens and the eyepiece have retained their sliding protective cap. The lenses are original and the telescope gives a clear and clear picture. Beautiful state, without any restoration.
