"Léon Detroy (1859-1955) "
RARE and BEAUTIFUL DRAWING with colored pencils and pastel Léon Detroy representing a young woman with the flower, signed lower right. Format without frame 62x46cm. It is actually a rather rare drawing of Detroy because representing a young woman, subject rather rare at Detroy as his wife, Fifi, forbade him this kind of subject .......... especially the naked, there, it should be allowed to chew this young woman .... maybe it is about Mrs. Van den Eckout, wife of the famous Belgian painter with which Detroy was very related to a period, this one lodged the painter of the Creuse in his property of the Côte d'Azur. Whatever the person sketched, Detroy as usual brushes the subject with great ease, surely very quickly which gives even more strength to this drawing; He employs long touches, as he often does, employs warm hues, which he places on an original bistre paper. Otherwise I do not present more Leo Detroy, great French painter, pillar with Guillaumin of the famous school of Crozant (see more detailed biographies in many books and in my other announcements). He was the friend of a large number of painters and artists, Willette, Lebourg, Alluaud, Van Den Eckout, Rollinat etc ... He will travel extensively throughout France, Cote d'Azur, Collioure, Brittany, Ile de France .... and abroad Netherlands, Belgium, Maghreb, Italy etc .... A very detailed biography is being prepared as well as a future exhibition. This drawing is in pafait state, delivered in a nice modern golden frame. Guaranteed authentic
