Good condition, dimensions: 36 cm X 28 cm Lucien GENIN (1894-1953) he is a painter of Montmartre and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, he follows the teaching of the School of Fine Arts of Rouen under the direction brothers Alphonse and Albert Guilloux. In 1919, just arrived in Paris, he enrolled at the School of Decorative Arts and board in Montmartre at the mother Boyer, at the Hotel du Poirier, near the Bateau-Lavoir. It was there that he met Max Jacob, was influenced by Dumont, and undoubtedly rubbed shoulders with the wildlife of the Montmartre of the 20s but it was with Elisha Maclet, his next-door neighbor, that he tied himself. More than Peintre de Paris, Genin is the Painter of the Parisians, he paints them in the streets of Montmartre, dining at night Place du Tertre, singing in the Agile Rabbit, driving on the boulevards, onlookers and singers of the streets; he follows them on the banks of the Marne at the first rays of the sun, and in the south of France, in the summer. He is in turn Nogent-sur-Marne, Marseille and Cassis, Cannes and Villefranche-sur-Mer. He was in Douarnenez in 1929 with Pierre Colle, Giovanni Leonardi and Max Jacob. He painted the port of Rosmeur on the day of the feast of blue nets and exhibited his painting at the Salon d'Automne in 1930. In 1936, Lucien left Montmartre for Saint-Germain-des-Pres. In 1940, he fled to Marseille for a few months. In 1941, the City of Paris bought him a gouache and in 1944 René Fauchois presents his exhibition at Bernard Gallery
