"Brazilian School Towards 1950-1960, Pretresse Macumba"
Beautiful and amazing painting depicting a priestess MACUMBA, probably a Brazilian school of the 50s / 60s. It is an oil on isorel, unsigned, measuring 91 x 67 cm (98 x 74 cm with its frame). The work dates from the 50s / 60s and was made with a water-based paint, usually used for painting in buildings. The MACUMBA is a Brazilian religion of African origin, with voodoo elements. The spiritual leader is most of the time a woman wearing a white garment and smoking a pipe, which will address the spirits. Free delivery in Paris possible.
